Willow Workshop in France, May 2013

In May 2013 I travelled to France to attend the 3rd Willow Workshop in Bouxurulles, eastern France.  There wee 6 talented weavers from across Europe.

It was so much fun to be with 50 weavers (mostly French - so I had to crank up my schoolgirl French!).  I went with my mum and sister and while I was weaving they were exploring the local towns and countryside.

I chose to attend the workshop of Klaus Seyfang, a german man with an incredible creative talent.  His website is http://www.geflecht-klaus.de/

This is the basket I made, which I called "Surf", which is this shape as I had to fit it into my backpack and bring it back to New Zealand!  I loved the bold colours and weaving stitch and the techniques involved in creating an organic shape
