Pigeon Basket

This pigeon basket is based on a traditional design, going back to the First World War where the messages from carrier pigeons were a key element in communications.  It has been commissioned to go in a museum in Queensland, Australia relating the role that animals and birds took during WW1. 

The basket is made from buff willow for easy cleaning and is light to carry.  There is a handle, a side-opening door and a lift up lid.

The dimensions are L 45cms x W 30cms x H 30 cms.  Weight 1.5 kilos.
